Festal brew?

Post by Hobbitfu » Mon Jul 27, 2015 2:31 pm

Was contemplating doing the double oatmeal stout by Festa until I can get my gear set up. What are peoples thoughts on Festa in general and on the oatmeal stout?

Those kits are good, never had the oatmeal stout but I hear it's good
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

I've tried them all. Stout is good. But I had the fermentation stall which resulted in some bottle bombs.

Might give it a try but not with suggested yeast. Not a fan of s-33. May use s-04 or us-05

I used what was in the box. I went through the entire line up before moving into partial grain a few years ago.

Could you explain that for me, please?

No idea it was about 2 years ago. If I had to guess it was between 18-20

I haven't put one of those kits on at Noble Grape for a while but I thought they come with either S-04 or Nottingham yeast, not S-33. I could be wrong though. I see that is what Magnotta lists as the yeast online.

Drank one the other day that a buddy of mine made. It was very good, if somewhat unremarkable. It'll make a solid beer.

I am drinking ale today." ~ Poe

I think that's what I'm experiencing with the smash I did last month. I'll have to keep an eye on pressure I guess.

Yah mine came with s-33 but opted for s-04 that I had on hand. Only used s-33 once but wasn't my favourite. It doesn't floc very well either

I've made a bunch of the oatmeal stout with the s-33 and it was a beast every time. I think they made a good choice using that yeast for that kit.
