Travel Section?
So, on occasion there have been members asking "where should I go when I am in X". In most cases (if not all) cases, people come back with great suggestions, as we all tend to travel and try out places.
I was wondering if we could/should open up a new section devoted to travel, so that people can proactively talk about the great places they have been to in their travels, and then when someone wants to know what places to check out, they have a thread to reference. Sort of a Brewnoser Beer Atlas. By Brewnosers, for Brewnosers.
Anyone else thing this would be a worthwhile idea?

I've been thinking about starting a brewpub/microbrewery review site for people to report back on their findings when they travel. Maybe it would go with your idea.

I think a sub-forum in the General Beer Discussion would be a good idea.

Part of this can be solved by using foursquare lists, such as this one. If you're on an iPhone you can set it up for geofence notifications (I think) when you approach the place. If you're on android/bb you simply follow the list and it reminds you if you check in anywhere close.CorneliusAlphonse wrote:We could add to the 'good beer' map for places beyond the maritimes map, maybe? don't think it needs it's own section but just me
Of course, not everyone uses foursquare, but this is a very good way to "set it and forget it." If you're suddenly faced with a long layover somewhere, there's no need to post to the forum to solicit suggestions.
That said, I think a travel subforum with a thread for each city would be a good idea.
Brewing right now: whatever is going on tap at Stillwell in a few weeks.

Added a subform under the General Beer Discussion. If someone has a better suggestion for the name, fire away.

It's not just for sites abroad, but any outside our local area.
