Bridge Brewing Company - New Brewery soon?

Post by Brewnoser » Mon Mar 12, 2012 10:05 pm

Information starting to leak out on a new nano-brewery in Halifax. There was a claim that they would be open March 11 (yesterday).

I searched the Registry of Joint Stocks and it is registered to Peter Burbridge, listed as being at 6535 YOUNG STREET, UNIT 1
HALIFAX NS Canada B3L 2A5.

A guy named Peter BurBRIDGE works at Java Blend Coffee Roasters, and I might suggest that the permits to get a coffee roasting operation set up from the city would be similar to those for a small brewery.

The website/marketing stuff is being done by Chris Foster

There is also this: http://www.bridgebrewing.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which seems redundant and should be pointed to the first one.

They claim to have a Signature beer, Yardstick Ale

"Yardstick ale is bridge brewery’s signature beer, the beer the brewery was founded or “conceived”upon. Yardstick is a belgian abbey style ale with a North American twist. Subtle fruit flavours presents up front, as it opens up to a full body driven by a huge amount of malt and rounded out on a spicy black pepper finish.
Yardstick is naturally carbonated and no preservatives are added. Sediment is a normal part of bottle conditioning, pour slowly for a clear brew or swirl for an extra yeasty body. keep refrigerated."
6.5% alc/ vol.

And also to be a nano-brewery, "Canada's smallest"

"Bridge Brewing Co. is a grassroots effort to challenge the status quo of wasteful business practices. By starting as Canada’s smallest “nano-brewery” with the goal of becoming a Zero Emissions brewery Bridge Brewing is giving a clear alternative to consumers.
Vote with your dollar! Vote for change!
Drink Bridge beer with confidence that the profits of every bottle are being used to develop a sustainable business.
How is Bridge Brewing going to become zero emissions? By implementing the model developed by the Zero Emissions Research Institute (ZERI). The flow chart below outlines how waste streams are diverted from the landfill to create new products.
Implementing the entire model will cost a great deal more than Bridge Brewing’s founders could raise out of the gate so we are taking a phased approach to developing the model. Profits will be re-invested to build out all the pieces of the ZERI model. Track our progress on our sustainability blog."

More beer is good.

Bottle conditioning all of his beers will definitely slow down the whole process, but could make for some interesting tastes!

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:
