Craft beer in the U.S
Just got back from Chicago, found a beer store with more kinds of beer then you could imagine. I was like a kid in a candy store.
These are the ones I bought.
Dog Fish - 60 Minute IPA
Dog Fish - Raison D'Etre
Dog Fish - Positive Contact
Sierra Nevada - KELLERWEIS
Sierra Nevada - Pale Ale
Revolution - Anti-Hero IPA
Revolution - Bottom Up Wit
Three Floyds - Dreadnaught Imperial IPA
ETA Blue Moon and some beer renamed Hopolooza at a bar close to Grant Park. We were there for Lollapalooza
They were all very good. So hard to pick a favourite.

Nice list
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Good stuff indeed.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

While visiting my brother in New Hampshire we visited The Beer Store, they sell no "Corporate" Beers, just micro and craft beers.
The selection is amazing. We had steak for supper......I think.

Impressive list (but I have only tried a few of them), I have heard awesome things about the Dreadnaught IIPA. I am planning my next trip to Chicago this fall (wife's family lives there) and I am going to take a day trip to visit the 3 Floyd's Brewery. For anyone else visiting the Windy City, for Belgian Beer I would suggest the HopLeaf on Clark and for wicked Margarita's (and Mexican food), I would suggest Fernando's on Lincoln.sucanushie wrote:Just got back from Chicago, found a beer store with more kinds of beer then you could imagine. I've told you in person, but Three Floyds is a must-visit when in the Chicago area. Plus you can visit Flossmoor Station on the way down or back.

If you ever get the chance to get Sculpin IPA, grab it. It is one hell of a tasty IPA

If you can find one, it's a seasonal brew, try a Cape Ann Fisherman's Navigator Dopple Bock. Great tasting brew.
They have other great offerings as well.
