I was just there and was told it would be on the shelf shortly after ten. He said it will be about 13 bucks a pop.

I can't make it until about 11:30 unfortunately so don't buy it all up on me! Or if its going quick someone hide me a few bottles!

$13.... WOW... perhaps that will mean the 500 bottles may last a little bit longer than I thought.

Yep, $12.99. A gal in marketing let me know via email this morning. Steep... but it's a premium release. No worries about not selling out eventually... just may take a bit longer. I was going to post the price this morning, but the filters at work blocked me from signing in here to do so.

Glenora barrels are only $50-$75...I find it hard to justify that kind of mark-up.... :|

Maybe they're... magic barrels? Possibly formed under a double rainbow formed by chocolate rain?

True. You've also got to consider the cost of them storing it including the time and attention it took them - they are a business.

That's still pretty damn high though. Though, like was said above, it'll still sell out it's just a question of when.

You know, I consider the cost of storing them to be around zero, and that's probably the amount of attention they required. I can't justify that kind of markup to stick a couple barrels in the corner. These must be forced carbed bottles? Maybe that's where the extra work/$$$ comes in... :?:

Haha, fair enough. It is easy enough to just stick a barrel in the corner, you're right. Still at any (sort of) reasonable price I'm getting at least one (to drink with the one I've been cellaring). Guess they'll make out like gangbusters on this deal. Supply and demand, I suppose - would be nice to have them under ten bucks though. What's their regular barley wine sell for?

I thought it was around $7, but maybe I'm thinking of something else....

Accountants don't. And if they got no attention at all then that's a problem. Last year the regular was $6.99 a bottle.

Two barrels in a corner at Garrison aren't an accounting issue, regardless of Garrison may want to tell us. And they shouldn't be screwing with the barrels once they are filled. There isn't a chance in hell I'd go out in this weather to pay that much for that product. I wouldn't even do that if it was warm outside and I was down there anyway.

I was there just prior to 10, and managed to get all I wanted.
Also got some for akr and PEIBG.
I believe this year's was $7.99, but I didn't get an itemize receipt for my haul. No big lineup, but I did see some BNs down there.
Extra work involved: numbering all of the 500 bottles.

No same price - $6.99 a bottle. ABV is higher but they're reporting the same Original Gravity so it must have attenuated more this year.

Individually numbered? Awesome! I'll be there just after 12, so it may be BN meeting #2 based on what others have said.
Brewing right now: whatever is going on tap at Stillwell in a few weeks.

I'm waiting for Keith's to individually number their bottles, then I'll try it. ;)

If y'all are number people, the lowest I saw was #13. I also grabbed #20. Ron Burgandy got 420.
:cheers2:

I got numbers 425, 470 and 473.

My buddy and I are cracking into 425 momentarily. Delicious office beer!

Lowest number I found in the cooler was #12. I figured they would keep #1, but then they wouldn't be selling 500 bottles.

I only saw one of the numbers on mine, which was 92. I bet if we were to post the numbers of our respective catches, we'd be able to track the majority of the product from brewing to belly.

I had no idea that numerology extended to beer. What's next? Astrological implications of drinking a beer based on when it's brewed? A free pack of tarot cards with your six pack?

When I checked here/email/Faceboook at work this morning to see how you made out, I didn't expect you to be in the visuals!
