Hmm, I didn't see it at the Open House, so I'm curious too.

What did everyone think of the beer? I found it a bit confused myself. Also not really sure what (if anything) having coco husk in there did - I've never heard of doing that before (perhaps for good reason). I did buy two bottles to sit on for a while and see what it turns into. Titus was saying they're going to age two barrels worth of it in two new (to them) Glenora barrels that just came in.

Personally, I think the 15 hop beer turned out a little better - all in all though, I think they should do some pilot batches of these experimental beers... Not that this attempt was terrible, but it wasn't a home run either.

A bit muddled - as could be expected from such a long list of ingredients - and I think there's an "ashy" flavour that may mean too much Black malt. Not entirely familiar with all of what they used so it could be something else. I'm surprised the 15 Hop came out as well as it did. Curious to see if some time helps this one along. I've got a couple bottles I'll try to forget about for a while.

Yeah it's kind of funny - using every malt in the house is a classic newbie homebrewer mistake! You would think a brewery that's been around for 15 years should be past that stage

Sounds more like a matter of the marketing department coming up with the recipe... tho' I suppose that's better than the marketing folks stealing a recipe from a homebrew site and claiming it as thier own.

True, though perhaps evidence they never homebrewed. If they had, they would have ultimately at some time done a beer with every malt in the house, realized how bad that turns out, and never have attempted such a thing commercially!

Pretty much. Not a terrible beer but my socks remained on. The 15 hop beer was quite delicious. This was good but not great. I still will buy a couple of bottles to see how it is bottle conditioned.
