It's not the bottom of the tank. I pull from the side of the tanks up off the bottom about 8". The beer has been conditioning for nearly a week in the bright tank, yeast doesn't seem to want to drop out very well on that one. I didn't think it was that bad but the glycol chiller has been acting up again (as usual). Perhaps it warmed up last night causing sediment to rise again. I'll check on that today as I have time. And yes, it is supposed to be darker, its a Red.

Old 87 is great. Hop Mess is pretty muddy, they say they are almost out.

We've decided on staying above ground to enjoy the sun so a few Noble Grapers will be heading there in a while.

The one and only Hop Mess Monster returns! Saturday @ open (11:00 a.m.) which is also the annual Brewmasters Birthday Bash (all day) - I'll be tapping a keg of 2012 Commissar RIS plus we have the fabulous Dank & Stormy DIPA on tap, which is far more sessionable than Messy @ only 8.2% ABV. We'll be running some food specials; a new incarnation of the Nash-Burger, pork belly sliders and a smoked brisket sandwich.

Messy v4.0 is calculated to 533 IBU and finished @ 11.5% ABV, she's is tasting greaaaat :cheers2:
