The beer is Delish. Hop tea. Nose is inviting. Decent bitterness and amber malt. I know it that melanoidin rest but this tastes more like Munich malt than a crystal forgot to check the abv. May be reporting from police cell later.

Drinking this now, it's super delicious! I've never had a smash this complex. It's motivating to know what can be done with just 2 row and hops - I've got lots to learn

Going to be difficult to do what NASH does, even with the same recipe. I believe one of his techniques is an extremely long simmer (previously discussed on here and elsewhere). It's something you can do with a steam-jacketed kettle but much harder to pull off with gas-fired or electric gear due to the tendency for scorching.

Also the DOA is amaaaazing. I love Citra and this is Citra to the nth degree. It's also a really subtle palate wrecker. I've got a well-hopped pale in my glass now that's missing a huge part of its flavor due to the single pint of DOA I had an hour and a meal ago ;)

Serious orange hazy, easily the most complex and tasty SMaSH I have every drank. Deadly beer all around, well fucking done.

You wanna replicate that temperature rest put your wort in the oven.

DOA is definitely a tasty beer. Lots of hop balls on this one.

I would not have thought of that; neat idea.

At the same time, my brew kettle doesn't fit in my oven :)

But I'm also guessing a smaller pot would do as long as it's a "rest" as you say or "an extremely slow simmer" as I read elsewhere, so boilover wouldn't be as much of a threat. Still, I stand by my original statement that "it's going to be difficult to do what NASH does". For many reasons. :D :D

First unfiltered experience today, got a growler of DOA and the IPA. Having the first taste of DOA now at the campground and kinda wish I could get back to halifax tomorrow for more, it is awesome.
Looking forward to IPA tomorrow. :cheers2:

We ended up drinking with Nash and X for a hour or two. I showed up drunk as fuck and left completely shittered. Haha. When I got home I fell off the bed trying to get under the blankets. Lol

Looking forward to grabbing a growler and tossing some washers! Hopefully the whole batch didn't get consumed last night hahaha.
