Sure you weren't! 
Balanced = drinkability to me. You have a beer, you find it pleasant. You want more. It's not too malty, not too hoppy, not too anythingy. Otherwise, it'd be out of balance, no?

Here I was thinking 'balanced' refers to the weight of the hops being equal to the weight of the other ingredients so you could balance them on a see-saw.NASH wrote:Sure you weren't!

I might even know a brewer of some notoriety who does his IPAs that way.
