Commissar RIS was tapped on Monday, folks. It's god-damned tasty! :cheers2:

No wait, it's unbalanced! :rockin:

Greg ...what is balanced please? I never really understood that, or is it a subjective thing ...and I promise, I wasn't the anonymous poster.

Sure you weren't!

Balanced = drinkability to me. You have a beer, you find it pleasant. You want more. It's not too malty, not too hoppy, not too anythingy. Otherwise, it'd be out of balance, no?

So greg, with the changes coming to H&T can we eventually look at Growlers of Messy to go? haha :cheers2:

Here I was thinking 'balanced' refers to the weight of the hops being equal to the weight of the other ingredients so you could balance them on a see-saw.
Brewing right now: whatever is going on tap at Stillwell in a few weeks.

Sounds like a perfectly good way to balance a beer.

I might even know a brewer of some notoriety who does his IPAs that way. ;)

Well folks, for those of you who didn't have the chance to drop in for the stunningly well-balanced Commissar RIS or the lovely Off the Hop IPA, you're too late!

Hart & Thistle is now permanently closed for business :cheers2:
