Re: Which NS Brewery is for Sale?
Small taproom and several NSLC listings should help narrow it down - Rare Bird, Hell Bay, Uncle Leo's? I presume Boxing Rock and Big Spruce would fit the fit the description too but I'd expect too big at this point to go this route?

Big Spruce doesn't have an NSLC listing to the best of my knowledge. Tatamagouche, Breton, and Spindrift also match the description.

Re: Which NS Brewery is for Sale?
Big Spruce doesn't have any in stores yet, but they've been approved for several in the spring with their new canning line. You're definitely right on Spindrift matching. I wouldn't call Breton's taproom small so didn't include them, and I guess Tata's is pretty small but thought their expansion would remove them from fitting here.

Nine Locks would potentially fit too, but I think the taproom there is too big to qualify as "small".

Based on what I see for the postal code set on the account..... B3h1a1 shows the south end of Halifax.

According to Canada Post's reverse lookup, that's Point Pleasant Park - and one street (Chain Rock Drive) alongside it. Definitely not a brewery address, and I'd guess not genuine either in that location.

At least one more to add to the mix - new NSLC Listings for local brewers announced. Trider's could fit the above description - maybe not the "strong following within the province" though. And knowing the ownership at Downeast, if the restaurant is a separate business, I can see them calling theirs a "small taproom".

I'm almost 100% sure that Trider's wouldn't be in the mix for a sale. No taproom yet either, just on-site sales.

Thanks for your input. I'm guessing if they're not saying who it is in the posting, they don't want it public and will have anybody expressing an interest sign a non-disclosure agreement. Hence the reason at least two people have expressed interest in making contact but haven't come back to say what brewery it is.

Thanks for your reply, I'm guessing since this is a confidential issue, it's really a non-issue until it is resolved.BobbyOK wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2017 1:56 pmThanks for your input. Re: Which NS Brewery is for Sale?
I would wager Rare Bird if it weren't for the "award winning beer and strong following"

Asked around to a few people and Hell Bay looks like the most likely candidate. Owners are in the middle of a divorce right now

Shame about the circumstances if that's the case. Hope someone is able to make something of it.

Re: Which NS Brewery is for Sale?
I just don't think it could be Hell Bay for a bunch of reasons, but I been wrong before though. There was rumours around there are 4 breweries up for sale in NS. With the money flowing into brewing right now there will be a couple roll the dice I figure

It's the "small taproom" that leads me to Hell Bay, or at least away from a full brewpub type place like Downeast.toddthebeerdude wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2017 8:17 pmI just don't think it could be Hell Bay for a bunch of reasons, but I been wrong before though. Anyone have any luck making contact? I can't seem to find any means of messaging on Probrewer or any other contact info.

Re: Which NS Brewery is for Sale?
Does Downeast have any NSLC listings? Are they available outside of their own taproom? That would rule them out I would thinkBobbyOK wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2017 10:07 pmIt's the "small taproom" that leads me to Hell Bay, or at least away from a full brewpub type place like Downeast.toddthebeerdude wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2017 8:17 pmI just don't think it could be Hell Bay for a bunch of reasons, but I been wrong before though. Re: Which NS Brewery is for Sale?
I was in to Downeast before March Break to grab a growler while the kids were at Get Air...they said they will have 2 listing come the summer...their IPA and the red I believe. The front entrance of the place was overloaded with pallets of bottles...I thought for a second I went in through the loading area lol
