Drink Infected Beer

Post by Timelord_ » Mon Nov 13, 2017 8:27 pm

Hey gang.

I *think* there there was a slight infection during my most recent brew. After primary fermentation, there were two largish bubbles that has the "milky" texture. Other than that, everything looked OK.

So I racked from under the krausen layer into a keg and chucked it into the fridge. Beer seems to taste fine, so any reason not to drink it (wondering about possibly getting sick etc).

Cheers

Drink up, it won't hurt you. It does sound like an infection, but the worst it can do to the beer is make it taste bad. If it's in the fridge now it won't likely get worse, so if it tastes fine then great. I'd give any equipment it came in contact with a good cleaning and sanitization though.

Drank a couple of pints. Tasted fine, however had me up overnight puking it up. Followed up by a nice dose of the poops. Needless to say that batch was poured down the drain....

Bummer about both of your dumps pal. ;)

Heads up though; It's highly unlikely that your infected beer was the culprit in the vomit situation. Unless of course you drank them in excess.

I had a dumper in Sept and there is no way I could drink this in excess. Smelled like nail polish.
