My $^#&% computer crashed on me a couple of weeks ago and I've lost a lot, but nothing so important as my recipes, I only have the ones I posted here. Yes I have a one-click backup drive, but it didn't capture the recipes folder.

AHHHH!! There isn't an emoticon to fully express my rage.

Speaking of which...I've been drinking my ginger beer for the past month now. It's ok, not the best batch I've done. I made two critical mistakes that changed the flavour of it.

I forgot to add the lemon juice, I feel that the lemon adds a crispness to the beer that is important to the style. I also fermented with a 2nd generation American Ale (1052) yeast. I think that, as it had been used to a real beer prior to it's inoculation into the ginger beer, the yeast weren't all that happy in a sugar environment. I didn't get a great efficiency from it and there is definitely a yeast flavour that isn't there when I just use a new pack of dried ale yeast.

I'll try again in the spring. Hopefully you'll give it another shot someday too! (with a better keg)

I've still got a full keg in the basement. Dry hopping with a tube of ginger....

Are you sure they're totally gone?

Can you boot using a Linux cd and acres the files that way?

I gave the hd to my IT guy at work, he's got the gear to do it quickly. He said he should be able to get them for me. We'll see...
