What's everyone drinking?
I'm enjoying a homebrewed version of Tim's black IPA and going to watch the Steelers game. What are you enjoying?

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Water (for the echinacea pills) and Sleeman's honey brown 'cause I can't smell or taste well enough to have this in my fridge.

Tonight's brew of choice is a homebrewed pale ale while watching ufc

I'm watching the fights too and drinking a hydrometer sample of an IPA based on the DFH 60 clone recipe. Yummy!LiverDance wrote:Tonight's brew of choice is a homebrewed pale ale while watching ufc

Re: What's eveyone drinking tonight?
Grabbed a bottle of the Gahan 1772 IPA (its first bottle run). I was impressed. The hop character was more pronounced than it used to be and the beer was more balanced overall. They still have a way to go, but I'm glad they've started shooting for a quality IPA.
Brewing right now: whatever is going on tap at Stillwell in a few weeks.

I broke out a bottle of the Garrison Spruce beer from last December. It doesn't seem to have mellowed much since then, but I like it nonetheless.

I don't usually think that far ahead. Last night, however, was a dubbel, a special bitter and a mild ale at my brother's place.

Re: What's eveyone drinking tonight?
I had a Moosehead Cask Ale tonight - they changed the incline of the cask this week and didn't draw the right amount off so the first one I was given was awful. They realized their mistake and replaced it with a tasty one. I then had a propeller IPA, which I enjoyed but it wasn't spot on. Next up is the Big Tide Chocolate Stout. A little beer tour before I move out of the port city!
