I have noticed Craft Breweries starting to close here in Ontario lately. The owners are saying taxes are the main culprit for the closings. Gee, who would of thought that. Also, people are not drinking beer as much as they used to. So, how are the breweries doing in Atlantic Canada?

We have lost Tide House, Bad Apple and Granite off the top of my head.

Re: Craft Breweries Closing
Topside in Bedford also quietly closed down a few months ago. There's been some breweries changing hands, too, including Great Roads (formerly Ol' Biddy's), Sober Island, and Hammond River in NB. Will be an interesting couple of years for craft beer in the region. Funding like ACOA has pretty much dried up and interest rates are making startup loans pretty daunting regardless of whether you believe the market is effectively saturated or not.
