Pay-to-play will definitely be an ongoing issue. There's already several lawsuits in the US - I believe Boston is overrun with it. As the market becomes more crowded, some folks will decide the only way to grow their business is to pay to guarantee flowing taps.

We'll have more details in Friday's blog post. Will be a good use of the space and equipment!

Maybe some day soon you won't have to smuggle beer back from Quebec:

Not sure how "newsworthy" this is, but the Hill Farmstead release at the LCBO yesterday crashed their website!!

I thought about buying a case to have in my fridge but can't find any at the beer store near me. If it was there, they hid it well.

Time to stock up on grains? How much higher can Craft beer get in Canada? Already too high for me. I brew more often than I used to.

I visited Barley Days in October and had several of their beers - all very good. Their Looney Lager was $4.40 a six and was better than any other discount beer I’ve ever had in Ontario. My only regrets was not buying a bunch to take home with me.

Its pretty crazy honestly, the liquor laws across Canada period are nuts. As long as the government can somehow have its hands in your pocket, all is well.

Now that weed is legal there is a huge double standard. They treat and regulate it like booze but let people smoke it like tobacco. I would just like to be able to enjoy a beer at a picnic, on the beach or on the boardwalk in the summer without feeling like it should be in a paper bag or coffee cup.

It's a silly law, just keep no public intoxication on the books and that's enough

So which local breweries are exposed to this DME bankruptcy? If someone has made a down payment that’s not being held in trust...

I heard at least one “yet to open” brewery startup may be hurt.

If it’s the same guy I read his posts on ProBrewer quite a bit. Great to see someone from out these parts active on there. Give the man your cake.
