Yeah, it's a pdf and for some reason the forum is set to not allow uploading of pdf's. I am going to try and change that tonight when I have access to my laptop (and not my blackberry!) lol

Jimmy,
If you send me the PDF, I can take care of getting it up for you in the meantime.

It's up there now. The problem was that the forum was set to not allow uploading of pdf files.ratchet wrote:Jimmy,

Re: Name that Picaroons
I really like Picaroons, especially the winter warmer and best bitter, but since I name all my beers after songs I think i'm out due to copyright infringement
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

lmfao. I'd normally be with you on this one 100%, but I have to say, I enjoyed their Imperial Pilsner, and the Picaroons I've had in NB have been pretty good beers. I'm not sure what the issue is with the ones I've had here...derek wrote:"I-can't-believe-it's-not-butter[scotch]"
Jimmy, you should invite these people to join the forum and post their social media info, possibly in their own thread we create for their press releases...? I mentioned this sentiment to the communications person at Garrison. All are welcome.

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

Re: Name that Picaroons
I tried a bunch a year or two ago and wasn't a fan, but I retasted their best bitter in January and thought it was great. I had it on tap in Fredericton, maybe that helped? I tried their imperial pilsner (bottle) same trip, but didn't enjoy it.. maybe it was a style thing, but it didn't seem to have much flavour to it.
planning: beer for my cousin's wedding
Fermenting: black ipa
Conditioning:
Kegged: barrel barleywine from 2014 - i think i still have this somewhere

To be honest, I don't even know why I got that email or where they got my email address from. It seems like a mass email (it was sent to admin@nbtvtoday.com, must be some type of mailing list?)mr x wrote:lmfao. I am not the best person to be sending that email, but if someone else wants to, I will pass along her email address.

Re: Name that Picaroons
One thing I could do though, if the various brewers had an interest in it, is make a separate forum for each company to post their announcements, press releases, etc.. something like a vendors section.

Re: Name that Picaroons
Send it to me. I'm not sure we have enough breweries to warrant a new section, but maybe individual stickies in the ber discussion forum, and if the list by chance gets too big, go to a separate forum...

Re: Name that Picaroons
What I meant by a separate forum was just another heading on the main page with the listingsmr x wrote:Send it to me. So where it has General Homebrew Discussion, General Beer Discussion, Recipes, etc..just add a section for each company

Maybe a single section such as 'Local Beer News', where members (or the breweries themselves) can post information about the latest releases?Jimmy wrote: What I meant by a separate forum was just another heading on the main page with the listings

Re: Name that Picaroons
I know I'm not being fair - it's almost two years since I had any of their beer, anyway, and I've never had the opportunity to get it on tap. The pun was just too easymr x wrote:lmfao. Oh no it's not totally unfair, just more of a geographic truth, lol.

Re: Name that Picaroons
I know some of the old bottles were pretty bad around the city but I think Jeff mentioned in the last year that they had got a new bottling line and the beer was holding much better.

Re: Name that Picaroons
A buddy who drinks Picaroons all the time gave me one of their IPA for my birthday. Thankfully, I had it when I was home alone - still a lot of caramel/butterscotch in there. I assume he bought in in Sackville NB - which might be the problem, but I checked the bottling date and it wasn't old. I've had their Blonde before and enjoyed it.LiverDance wrote:I know some of the old bottles were pretty bad around the city but I think Jeff mentioned in the last year that they had got a new bottling line and the beer was holding much better.
I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt until I try it on tap.

That's what I found too. I've been drinking quite a bit of Picaroons lately (I spend 4 days of the week in Fredericton) and enjoy most of their variety.whisle pig wrote:It's not bad beer at all; my only commet is I find with the yeast they use, all there beer kind of tast the same.
