What do you guys/gals think of this? I can see where they're coming from, but at the same time, are they saying I should boycott a brewery such as Goose Island, who brews some of the highest-rated U.S. beers, just because it's now owned by AB-Inbev?

I'll drink whatever I enjoy - if it happens to be a great beer brewed by AB-Inbev, then so be it. Will I still think less of Inbev and try to support the smaller companies as much as possible..yes.

I agree with Jimmy. I drink good beer, but I don't rush out the door to try the latest InBev. I try to support local people who are trying to make a go of it, beer or otherwise. Good things can come from large industry, but I will always try the little neighborhood alternative first. Remember, the only reason why InBev is buying out these companies is because they are losing market share to people who gave up their swill. If no one supported the alternative then we would all be drinking wine.

I agree; I'm all for supporting local and the little guys.

BUT, if I found out that AB-Inbev bought Cantillon, and the same people were involved with the brewing process, and the beer was still amazing, I certainly wouldn't stop buying Cantillon just because of the company that owns it.

Kind of reminds me of how some people no longer consider Boston Beer Company, Sierra Nevada, or New Belgium as craft breweries because of their size, and no longer drink their beers as a result.

Its a lot like Sapporo buying Sleemans who owns Unibroue. You don't buy a brewery like Unibroue to change it to pump out more fizzy yellow water.

^ I never realized these 3 were connected! lol Must say I love the unibroue, and the sapporo commercial is cool!

If I like a brew I could care less who makes it.
