Utopias
12 bottles, $129 each. Who's in?
http://www.mynslc.com/Content_Marketing ... lease.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I don't get the online, then available in select stores. It's 12 bottles. I can't imagine they'll not be gone online within an hour.

Re: Utopias
I think they are only releasing 6 for purchase online. I'll be trying for one. Won't be here for the in-person release.

If there is interest I would buy a small portion of one and have a taste.

Re: Utopias
Is this a big deal? Can someone explain to me why this is $129 a bottle? That's enough for a very nice bottle of scotch....

That's my thinking. Actually, 2 bottles.

Re: Utopias
This beer would have to make me piss rainbows in order for me to spend $130 for a beer. I'm not puffy combs. I could buy 5-6 all grain batches from Dave for that amount of cash.

Re: Utopias
I bought one of PEI's 4 or 6 bottles of the tenth anniversary one myself. Personal masters present, I guess. It's a special beer, for sure... definitely a sipper - she's pretty stemmy, eh?

Re: Utopias
Well after the NSLC site glitched out and wouldn't allow the item to be added to the cart I was finally able to add a bottle of Utopias to my cart! Processed my transaction all good to go! Got a confirmation of purchase, then I get a call from the NSLC and they advised me there was a technical issue and after they processed the orders they were unable to provide me with a bottle and I would have to wait to be refunded.... Also, if this is true or not the rep also told me that the glitch caused them to sell out all the stock, including the bottles that were supposed to be in store on Oct 15th..... wont be impressed if that is also the case.

They posted on their Facebook page something like - We'll have one bottle for sale at Bayer's Lake store on Oct 15th.

Re: Utopias
Anyone have any successful stories? I managed to get one with the idea of sharing the love. My idea was $10/person (or whatever the numbers work out to) for a shot of it. There are probably better things to spend my money on, but I know I'm not the sharpest bulb in the drawer.

Looks like they are having a lottery for the last bottle: http://www.mynslc.com/Content_Marketing ... lease.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I'm in disbelief (but shouldn't be) that to win, you have to be at the store for 10am on a weekday.

I have a 375ml corked bottle of, Tactical Nuclear Penguin we could add to that tasting evening for another $10 a shot.
(I also have a 375ml corked bottle of Sink The Bismarck and make it really messy....)

Re: Utopias
I've had both of those before. I spent my $10 per shot at the brewery in Glasgow, so it might have been the atmosphere, but they were both great.XmonikerX wrote: I have a 375ml corked bottle of, Tactical Penguin we could add to that tasting evening for another $10 a shot.

However my favorite from there is the Tokyo.

I'm not interested in either beer, but the chaos is a whisker twiddling thought...
