AB InBev plans to invigorate Bass brand in the U.S.

I particularly love how they plan to capitalize on a beer that's been around forever by "In 2012, we will reintroduce Bass to consumers by investing in a variety of liquid innovations, ... and unique taste experiences."

So, convince people to drink Bass by giving them something that doesn't taste like Bass...

Sigh, don't they realize they can grow the brand AND keep the beer good/close to the original? Macros are stagnant while micros/craft beer are increasing profits. If you make a good beer, people will drink it, increasingly so. Sigh...

shhh! Supply & Demand - good beer is pricey enough, we don't want to give the accountants any more reasons to raise the price.

Maybe it's just me, but the last few times I had Bass here, one was enough.

No, it's not just you Robert. I've rarely had an imported beer - other the ones brought back on a plane - that was worth the effort, and even in the UK, Bass is nothing special. I just loved the tone of the article that suggested InBev sees nothing in any particular beer that's more important than the label (we all know that's true but I still can't figure out how supposedly intelligent marketing people can't figure it out).

LiverDance: "Real ingredients"? That's entirely the sort of thinking that makes 1029 Brewing entirely inappropriate for contracting out Garrison's brewing.
