There's something tasty growing in your driveway.
Pineapple weed
You've probably seen this weed throughout the province, and you probably had no idea that it smelled so great.
It's called pineapple weed and you've probably seen it growing around your house and in the cracks of your driveway.
The weed grows to be roughly 18 centimentres tall, with alternating leaves on the stalk. The top of the stalk is a ball-shaped flower. The flower is greenish-yellow and the bottom half has very tiny white flower petals.
But the most identifying characteristic of the weed is the smell it emits when you crush the flower. The flower smells like pineapple when you crush it in your hands.
Greg Osowski is the outdoor educator at the Atlantic Wildlife Institute and he enjoys snacking on the tasty weeds.

"The flowers are edible, raw or cooked. I prefer them raw because the flavour is stronger that way," he said.
But the best way to enjoy pineapple weed is to make a tea out of the flowers by chopping them up and pouring hot water over them.
Osowski says it's best to pick the weeds from a safe, clean spot rather than the side of the road or in your driveway.
"Try transplanting them into a garden or save the seeds to harvest them from a safe place. Make sure you aren't getting any nasty stuff with them."

Who's feeling experimental?
The article talks about eating this weed raw or making a tea with it for pineapple flavours. I know some of you like fucking around with local/naturalized ingredients. I'm too scared.

Thought about trying to use that once. Wasn't sure where to harvest enough of it.
