Packaging definitely looks awkward. Perhaps the NSLC Advent Calendar isn't great for HRM folks with easier access to beer or Brewnosers who have more access than others to beer outside the normal distribution system, but what about those outside of HRM? No specialty stores, smaller beer selection for those folks so the advent calendar may be something that appeals to them. Just something to think about.

That would make sense - but only 2 stores outside of HRM actually got any: http://m.mynslc.com/site/mynslc/default ... 20756#2900" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Looks like they have sold about half of them, as people are buying them up before the end of the month. I'm interested in seeing how many go unsold into December, and if they'll eventually price drop. If so, it likely won't be until mid-December I'd guess.

The price does not represent good value. It's too bad. It's a really interesting concept but I can get 24 (or more) AMAZING beer that I KNOW I'll enjoy for that price.

It's December 1st, and according to the NSLC website, they still have 66 in stock. Maybe they'll put it on sale soon?

I hope they don't interpret this as a lack of demand for craft beer - it's simply overpriced. I didn't post this earlier, but Newfoundland's pricing is 10 bucks less than us.

NSLC sales are typically not very impressive. They'll probably put them on clearance for $1.00 off.

New one of these out this year - all German beers this time, and down to $132.99, so about $5.50 a bottle. The box has the list of beers on it this year too so you can see what you're buying. Company must have heard the feedback on last year's version.

* Edit - I take that last line back, this appears to be a different company's calendar. And the price is almost double what it sells for at Costco in the US: http://www.costcoweekender.com/2016/10/ ... 12833.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

At $5.50 per beer (AND they're full pints), that's comparable to the Bieropholie stuff, so I foolishly picked one up. Hope it's good!

Might get that one myself. Like the idea of the all German. And I'd like to try their take on an IPA...

Yeah, it's pricey. I figured I'd try it once. Still a dumb idea, though. :)

Yeah, that and the Irish red seem really out of place. I look forward to trying all of it.

I picked that one up last week, although it's $149.99 here in NB. No idea what beers are inside yet.

I saw the list...I think you will be happy. Better than the calendar the NSLC had last year.

Anyone break open their advent beer calendar yet, or are you all trying to good for Santa? I'm just curious what the actual beer is like.

So far it's been
Upstream Commons
Tata North Shore
Nine Locks ESB
Garrison Hoppy Bouy
Boxing Rock Darkness
Upstreet Do Gooder
Spindrift Knotty Buoy
Propeller Revolution

It's been ok so far, made me try some I wouldn't normally buy. Also got me to try some I now know not to buy again.
