Hullo from Hali

Post by prunella » Fri Sep 23, 2011 1:19 pm

Hi there, I just found out about this site while I was over on Homebrewtalk. This seems so much more relevant!
My room mates and I started brewing in 2010 when my dad bought me a festabrew kit and we've been hooked ever since. I've now brewed 3 all grain batches and have essentially become obsessed with brewing.
I guess I'd consider myself a punk and a feminist with a super strong DIY ethic, and I'm looking forward to meeting more brewers in my area, especially if there are any other women brewers.
Thanks! Looking forward to chatting!
primary: sorry ass pale ale
secondary: american IPA
bottled: -lemongrass hefe

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Like Chalmers said, check the events section for upcoming events (hoptoberfest tomorrow!)

Also, there is a group buy forum. You can save quite a bit of money on equipment & supplies if you participate in group buys.

Monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month, check the events section for discussion regarding time & location of each meeting.

:cheers3:

Obsessed is a common word here.

Come on out to a meeting.
