I was told to come to this website by Mike at http://www.johnshomebrew.ca/. So far, I'm glad I did.
I've brewed beer before from kits back in my "bachelor" days and had a fun time doing so. Since I've been married and 3 small kids later, I think it's time to start back into it. With my Dad (to also teach him as he is retired) I plan on going from beginner to as advanced as we can go without breaking the bank or becoming a commercial entity. I found my Dad drinking my mother's wine because he was fed up with the prices of beer at the liquor store so that is another reason for our re-introduction back into brewing it ourselves.
My goals are to be able to at one point brew beer from scratch, and what I mean by that is without a can opener opening a can of malt but to actually hand pick the ingredients and go through the whole process of making the beer. Then, to be able to setup my own kegerator, converting a fridge and using corny's rather than bottling beer. I'm finding it hard to find equipment locally and most of my internet searches are coming up with equipment from the United States.
So, with that said, I'm excited to be here and eager to learn from everyone.
Cheers!
