Hey just directed here by a gentleman who sold me a locker on kiji, looks like a great place to find some information. So I have a keg system that I bought a few years ago that leaked out all my co2 on me. Other then that I'm pretty new at brewing. Ive yet to brew with grains. Which is my next plan after I fix my co2 leak.

Welcome aboard!

CO2 leaks can be a real pain, can cost you significant cash if you leak out several tanks. If you are systematic about it, however, you can find the culprit. Try pressurizing your regulator and tubing and quick disconnects (if you don't have a shutoff valve). Open the tank for a second, and then close it. The regulator will pressurize. Take note of the pressure, and let it sit for an hour or four or overnight. The pressure should not decrease in that time, if the system is at the same temp, and not hooked up to a keg. If that's good, you can then add in more variables: a keg, a tap, etc.

Soapy water or Starsan in a spray bottle is an option to track down leaks: spray down everything, and see if you get bubbles growing on tubing or regulator or tank stem/valve.

Yeah that sounds like a great place to start. I'll have to go get my bottle filled up. Thanks!

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.
