Hello all,
I am from Conception Bay South (just outside of St. John's) and I have been home brewing all grain since 2010. I am just coming back from a year long hiatus. I have made upgrades/mofications to my brewery in my time off and just getting familar with the new/modified system. I have been a member of other homebrew forums for a while but found that they were not always convenient because there was nothing local on there (ie group buys, classifieds, etc). Looking forward to being able to share knowledge with local people.

Re: Hello from Newfoundland

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Re: Hello from Newfoundland
Welcome. You`ll soon be in touch with a great group of local guys, some of whom are on this site. Of all the sites I`m on
I find this one the most friendly and of course more local than any other. Some of the mainland based guys do make it over this way from time to time
and we often meet up for a brew at the YellowBelly or a members house for a tasting.
