New From Halifax

Post by DarthTrader » Sat Sep 14, 2013 2:05 am

Hi From Halifax,

I've been brewing for about 7 years. Mostly make partial grain kits but would really like to start all grain. I'm just trying to source equipment/clean out my storage room to make room. My main project right now is trying to get everything together to make a kegerator. If anyone has any direction for a better source than noble grape, I'd love to hear from you but as of right now it seems like they are very competitive to say the least.

Currently have on a Gluten Free (for my gf), a Belgian White, Irish Stout, and Steam Beer. I kind of caught a groove last week with the brewing :) My favorite beer that I regularly brew is the Fullers Clone from Noble Grape that I dry hop with 2oz of East Kent.

cheers,
Kent

Good Morning and welcome!

Recommend Everwood Ave Brew Store also. It’s in Hammonds Plains: https://www.everwoodavebrewshop.com/

I started a thread on gluten free beer on here. I don’t know why, because I don’t know anything about it, but thought it was interesting: http://www.brewnosers.org/forums/viewto ... f=3&t=4933. Sounds like you know a thing or two about that.

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.
