Bear Judge Certification Program (I think).

I'm training up for the NSP (Newfangled Scale Program). It seems like a much easier option. I'm hoping eventually to get a badge depicting a drunken sailor on the Bluenose, waving a bottle of mild ale.

Regarding # -5: their entire advertising campaign is based on the beer being "cold"!!! I hadn't had one for years, so I had one the other day, just for the hell of it (and it was hell), outside a pub that didn't have any proper beer, and it warmed up in the sun. # -5 is the only one I'm confident that is correct in the minus scores.

The scale could keep going down for sure

minus X - Every time I take a sip, my soul dies a little more
minus XX - The nose of a llama's arse and the mouthfeel of a hobo's scrotum

The list could go on and on, but I think we should be striving for the positive side of the scale

positive X - magically delicious
positive XX - An angel just climaxed in my mouth
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Absolutely! Folks are happy to trade beer, for lots of reasons: very happy with it, and want to share the love; something's not quite right, and would like some assistance improving it.

Our monthly meetings are a combination of homebrew and interesting commercial beers (beer from away, or special ones probably not found at the NSLC). Bringing beer to a meeting (or to Hoptoberfest, next Saturday, look in the Events section for some details on that) is a great way to get unbiased opinions on it, and some help on improving it.
