New member greeting
My sons and I (Mike) are new to this forum and to brewing...somewhat. I have brewed beer and fermented wine at home but just using kits. We all enjoy craft beers and are anxious to start making our own. I am looking forward to getting some tips and some questions asked. My son will be traveling to Halifax probably next Monday to pick up some kegs from Everwood. Not sure where to post this yet, but if anyone is looking for some supplies from Halifax, it would be nice to share the travel/shipping expenses. BTW....I am in PEI.

Re: New meber greeting

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Welcome to the forum Mike and Mike's sons! We joined the forum when all we had made were a couple of Festa Brew kits and these guys guided us successfully into all-grain brewing over a few short months. You'll have your home brewery up and running in no time.

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

Hi Jeff....we are in PEI. For some reason I thought most of the members were in PEI....didn't realize you are from throughout the maritimes. I just clarified that on my intro. Mikejeffsmith wrote:

Welcome aboard!
As Cornelius said, check the "Events" subforum for the PEI Aleanders thread, there's lots of gals and guys there, and some may take you up on your offer. And pay you in homebrew (or cash) for it.
