Hello From Sambro Area!

Post by oman » Wed Sep 07, 2016 10:06 am

Hello everyone! I've been brewing all-grain for almost a year now, and I finally got around to joining!

Have made:
-Rye IPA (a couple variations)
-Experimental Rye/Wheat
-Dark (almost Porter) Red Ale

I have also made some ciders/apple wine, and a hopped/malted cider (graff), as well as a couple wine kits.

Would like to try making a Lager, and a Belgian and/or German wheat beer, but currently I have no means of controlling fermentation temperature.

Cheers!
Dan

:welcome:
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

Welcome aboard!

A swamp cooler can help to keep your fermentation vessel cool, but does require a bit of work replacing the ice.

Thank you for the suggestion! Looks like it will do the trick. Now I just need to find room in my freezer for frozen water bottles.

I say have a big BBQ of all the frozen meat and other stuff in there, and invite us over! ;) Makes more room for hops, too!

Cheers!
