Hello all, I'm Shaun. Been on the site a while, but never said hello. So, Hi!
I got my first primary and carboy for Xmas in 2011 and the wife hasn't seen me since Started with kits (mainly Barons - and I still like them), moved to kegs when I realized washing bottles sucked. By spring of 2013 I had had built my HLT, mashtun, boil kettle and first brewstand in my garage in Calgary; moved onto all grain - completely skipping extract all together. Moved back home to Halifax Oct 2014 - sadly having to leave my old stand behind (kept the pots), and it was back to kits. Got a new stand built back in the spring and have about 5 brews in. Couple pics of my brews and equipment attached.
Lots of upgrades I want to do (I'm still pretty basic), so I cant wait to hear about some of the other builds out there and cool mods to make.
Cheers all! Happy Brewing!

Re: new to the site
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.
