Hello from Charlottetown!

Hello,

I am a 30-something ale lover originally from Vancouver. I first got into ale when I lived in Victoria - my boss would condone 'Beer Friday' at work and got me hooked on Phillips. I've lived all over the country and have tasted some really amazing beer - Driftwood, Howe Sound, Tree, Crannog, Red Racer, Storm (BC), Steamworks, Muskoka, Duggans, Great Lakes Brewery, St. Ambroise, Propeller, Granite, Storm (Newfoundland) - to name only a few!

My interests in beer lay in the rich brewing traditions of England... I've dabbled in Belgian ales as well - but I haven't really embraced them as much as I could.

I now live in Charlottetown and the selection is pretty small at the moment... but things are on the up & up.

My professional background is in coffee - I am into roasting, brew techniques, varietals, - coffee & beer go hand in hand in my opinion.

It's a pleasure to be on this forum and I hope to start contributing soon!

Cheers,

I guess that you are automatically cross-categorized to the Aleanders. Our meetings are usually the second Tuesday of every month, except for the Xmas meeting that looks like it will be on a Sunday afternoon. Feel It would be great if you could make it. Feel free to PM me for details.

Jeez, any more members we might have to start looking at booking the legion or the CN pensioners club.

Amazing images by the way. It looks like you are living in Hogie's hood; I am a few blocks away too.

The Island chapter is growing quickly. SAAZ is falling behind in numbers.

Welcome to the Aleanders! Our community is really taking off now!

So are you making beer from kits, grains or somewhere in between?

Hopefully you can make it to our Beermas party. Details/discussion here: http://www.brewnosers.org/forums/viewto ... =34&t=1374" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'd disagree about the coffee - can't stand the stuff - but I suspect I'd be seriously in the minority here :-)

:welcome: Funny I totally agree about the coffee, I never touched the stuff till i fell in love with porters and stouts! From there is was a natural progression.
