I guess that I should probably introduce myself

Post by IanCompetent » Tue Jan 17, 2012 11:49 am

I've been using this forum for a long time now and don't really post that much, so maybe an introduction is in order:

I'm Ian and I live in Halifax. I've only been brewing since August but have been going fast and furious. I'm currently making my 18th batch. I started with all-grain and have never made an extract beer. May do it some day just to say that I did it, though.

As far as styles go, I have a definite preference for English Bitters and IPAs, but also love to brew their American counterparts as well. Also have a thing for Spiced Winter, Flemish Reds and Lambics. Locally, I'm a fan of Greg Nash's brewing and really like what Kevin Keefe does as well.

Big ups to Robert for doing the orders, Chris and Brian for all of their help and especially B. Boogie for getting me up and going. I'm sure that I'll be seeing some of you at the order pick-ups or at Rock Bottom.

Cheers!!

Good to see the de-lurking. :)
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

I don't, but I'd like to start going to a few. I do shift work, so time is not always available to me to do the things that I like: drink beer and brew beer. That said, I'm going to try to get out and do more brewing-realted activities.

Here's hoping I get to meet up with some of you guys in the near future.

Cheers!!

- Ian

18 all grains, that is great!

As a newbie who is still using extract can I ask what you use for mashing?

Best regards,

Neeraj

Welcome Ian.

Can't say I have ever had the pleasure of one of Nash's beers but hope to enjoy one sometime soon to see what everyone is raving about.
Must be one hell of a brewer. ;)
