New to brewing, very new and back in the Cape!

Greetings,

I am a Caper originally from the Bay left in '91 to go to Halifax for Uni and kept moving west to Saint John, Ann Arbor and finally Newport Beach, CA before making the long trek back to Sydney,NS. I am sure it is one of the longest Glacé Bay to Sydney moves.

Anyway, I was well introduced to Craft Beer in Cali, Oregon and Washington. I am interested in making some from scratch and not 100% where to start. My cousin has been brewing in Halifax for a number of years and recommended this site.

Love to network, share ideas and drink some ales!

Darren

Like you probably know, the easiest way to get good quality craft beer around Cape Breton is to brew it yourself, so you are in the right place. There are a few All Grain brewers from Sydney on here, and I'm sure they will chime in here. Hook up with them for a brew day, and check here for Classifieds for gear and other info.

Oh, and Welcome!

Thanks for all the Welcomes! I would love to find a clone recipe for Belhaven BEST or Dechars IPA, I love drinking beers in Scotland! Looking forward to getting involved with this group.

If any of you guys need anything muled from NB on the route to CB, just let me know...only got a small car but should be able to pick up stuff...I know the homebrew equipment market is almost dead in the cape....usually find alot more brewing stuff on kijiji in NB and main parts of NS.

You have to go by Pictou County to get back home... I may have to put up a new toll booth

you should put it around Mt. Thom......so it can be NS's version of the cobequid pass in the winter time :pow:

Er... the Cobequid pass is NS's version of the Cobequid pass! Are you trying to annex our real estate?
