Do you let left coasters in? Name is Bill and I have just completed my first BIAB. I've done extracts for awhile and yesterday was my first attempt at AG. My numbers came out pretty darn good but my gravity to the fermenter was quite a bit higher than I expected despite my predicted volumes being right on.
Anyhow, I'm an old duffer.. retired, love brewing, woodcarving and playing the ukulele with friends. Let's see if I can ask enough questions to destroy the flow of this site
Cheers...

Welcome - it doesn't matter where you're from, as long as you like beer!
And you can't complain about ending up with a higher gravity beer, that's a good day. Just adjust your efficieny on future brews until you get your system dialed in.

Hmm, thought I posted a thanks for the

messages.. but didn't show up. If it's waiting to be approved, this'll be a repeat.
Anyhow, I found you in a round about way cuz I saw a post referencing Jimmy's bags. They look good. I wrote him a message about brewing using the bag in an ice chest vs the kettle.. Haven't heard back.. I'll have to be impatient
Thanks again for the nice welcomes...... Bill

Welcome aboard, Bill!
I've just done a single BIAB batch myself, and everything was right on. My guess at 70% efficiency was a good one, I guess.
