Hello from Calgary
Hey brewnosers!
You guys have been mentioned to me on the other forum I'm active (Canadianhomebrewers.com).
I'm having my wedding in Halifax this labour day and even though our caterer said they'd provide a CO2 bottle and a regulator, I wanted to make double sure that I have one available.
I was wondering whether there would be a chance of borrowing one from one of you guys for the one day...
I know this is a lot to ask from a guy that has just registered, but it would be nice if one of you could help out a fellow brewer from out west...
Also, I'll be serving the same beer that won the vanbrewers competition and will be brewed commercially next year for the Vancouver Craft Beer Month, so there is an exclusive preview available! Haha
Cheers,
Jochen

Re: Hello from Calgary
Cool! I just moved into mynew house in the SW and brewing will be quite far down the list in the near future, between starting a new job, buying a house, renovating said house and getting married in Halifax to come back to Calgary, my brewing hobby might suffer a little bit... I can feel that next year is probably gonna be quite boring...

Yup! We're going to eventually start our own Calgary Brewnosers chapter. No worries on the brewing front, our 'meetings' are open to anybody who likes good beer, it doesn't need to be homebrew. We'll be sure to fire you off a PM when we try and organize another.

Hello
I’m not on the other forum but I read it ocassionally, and I think I read you saying you weren’t enjoying your job, so I’m glad you found a new job and congratulations on the engagement. Sounds like things are looking up for you…you just plonked yourself on the best beer site in Canada as well
that's almost a home run!

@GuingesRock: Yup, the other job was brutal... I'm so glad that I'm gone from there. Funny story, it didn't work out so well with them that I got laid off with the reason that my "services were no longer needed". I kind of smiled in their faces and thought "Thank god!"... 2 hours later I had the job interview for the job I'm having now!
So that was a turn to the very best and now I'm looking forward to some interesting discussions here! Cheers!

Welcome! I'll be away that weekend, or I'd make sure you had a backup. Hopefully it goes smoothly for you.

Welcome aboard!
If you fire me an email with the details of when/where you need the CO2, I've got a spare rig I can loan you. I expect an invitation to the reception, of course!

Re: Hello from Calgary
Welcome Jochem and congrats on your wedding. You may find traffic a little more on this site than the CHB site and no less interesting. There are a few of us on both forums, although I mostly post here and don't check in every day over there like I do here. Same friendly bunch of Home Brewers though.
Cheers.
Cheers.

Re: Hello from Calgary
Hey everyone,
I just got back to Calgary from YHZ... Wedding went great and both kegs (20 L each) were gone within the first hour.......... Never trust a wedding planner's suggestions...
I'll upload pictures of the wedding as soon as I can get to it.
I just wanted to send a special "THANK YOU" to Chris, as he was awesome with helping me out with the CO2 bottle and some of the heavy lifting at the caterers. Chris, I owe you and if you ever make the long journey out to Calgary, be assured that a cold home brew will be waiting for you!
Cheers!
