Greetings from Halifax

Post by Jerrian » Sun Dec 22, 2013 2:29 pm

Hello All,

I've been brewing on and off for the past few years, and have just started to get a bit more serious about it. I started out making mead, but very quickly moved on to beer. At the moment I have a rudimentary setup that allows me to brew half-grain-half-malt kits, but I'm thinking of making the move to all-grain this summer. I started poking around on the internet for information about all-grain brewing, and happened to come across this forum, so I figured I'd join up and get some tips from fellow Nova Scotians ;)

Cheers,
Jerrian

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.
