New member "Bluefin" from Mount Pearl, Newfoundland
Hey gang,
I go by "Bluefin" on other forums so I will use that here as well. I am looking forward to learning more about brewing beer on this forum. I have been brewing Brew House kits for the last year or so. I got tired of bottling and have very recently bought a double keg set up using cobra picnic taps. I have a 5lb. Co2 tank, double manifold and two brand new 5 gallon kegs. Any set up advice is welcome I currently have an extra full size fridge to use for beer. I would like to use a small freezer with taps or a mini fridge with a double tap tower. Still trying to decide. The full size fridge is too big to keep. Iwill see what happens in the future. I have to put a brew on this weekend to fill one of the kegs. Brew House Pumpkin beer is the first on the list as I have that kit now.....thinking an IPA for the other keg.

Hello and welcome.
I've used cobra/picnic taps only for the past year and a half and quite happy with them. Simple, effective, cheap, portable, easy to clean them (and the lines).

Re: New member "Bluefin" from Mount Pearl, Newfoundland

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Yes, for sure. I haven't seen any of the guys since the time Chalmers was here and we got the guys together and went up to Jims place for a night of sampling.Roundheadkid wrote:Might be a good time to schedule another get together Tony?

Welcome aboard!
I've got plans to be in YYT at the end of the month, hopefully we can meet up for a pint? Was thinking of dropping by Bitters on the MUN campus.

Re: New member "Bluefin" from Mount Pearl, Newfoundland
Thanks for the welcome chalmers. I have a strange work schedule. I work offshore doing a three week on and three week off rotation. I will be home until April 20th. If that works for you, let me know. I'm hoping to pass through Nova Scotia during August this summer. That may work too.chalmers wrote:Welcome aboard!

Unfortunately, I'm there on the 29th, so it doesn't sound like it'll work.
Warn us when you're coming to Hfx, will definitely be able to roll out the welcome mat!
