Hi Everyone,

My name is Monty and I've just recently gotten into homebrewing. I live in the North End of Halifax and brewed my first kit-brew last autumn. I've made a few kits that have been drinkable! I've since bought some new equipment and am trying my hand at all grain brewing.... Here's my equipment list

2 x 8 gallon brew kettles - Thermomiter and spiggot are removable through a welded screw attachment.
1 x 212,000 BTU propane cooker
1 x 5 gallon (Home Depot Cooler) mash tun with stainless steel fittings
1 x Fly sparge arm
3 x 23L plastic buckets for primary fermenting
3 x 20 L car boys

I've also bought BeerSmith2 and am having a nightmare trying to set everything up. While it may be a great program it's not THAT obvious for a beginner to use. I will be evaluating my evaporation rate tonight so wish me luck. Looking forward to your stories and learning as much as I can from the forums.

Cheers,

Monty

Welcome aboard! You're just in time for July monthly meeting, held on the second Tuesday of the month. You are more than welcome to come on out. It's at my place, in Spryfield, though folks will often try to carpool. Check out the Events page for more details.
There'll be a few Beersmith users there, and we'll try our best to get you set up.

:welcome: on your first go round plug in 14% as a per hr number and that should get you in the ball park based on that equipment, but your right that you'll have to monitor it to figure out your number as every setup is different.

Welcome! I still don't use beersmith, but often wish I'd take the time to dial my gear in and be more accurate.
