Newbie in Cape Breton

Post by tacoma5149 » Wed Jul 16, 2014 8:07 am

Hello everyone. I am just starting into home brewing beer in Sydney, NS. I have never brewed my own beer before but I got some equipment from a friend and bought some more and I'm ready to start. I have an appreciation for good beer and I am looking forward to trying my hand at making some. I have been on the Brewnosers forum a couple of times to get info to get started and I'm sure I will be back often looking for answers. It's great to see there is such a thriving home brew community in the Maritimes.
All the best,
Bill

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Bill,

Welcome aboard!

There are a couple of us Brewnosers here in the Sydney area. PM me and we can meet up to brew and/or sample some brews.

Cheers!
Bryan

Welcome aboard!

Late notice, but I'll be in Sydney Thursday night. I usually have a pint and maybe some Man Candy Poutine at Governor's when in town, if you're interested in meeting up for a pint.
