Hello from Newfoundland

Post by Tony L » Fri Jul 15, 2011 8:14 pm

Hi guys. Some of you may know me from various forums here in Canada and some in the US I visit from time to time.
I see some familiar names in reading some of the posts.
Well to introduce myself, I live in Mount Pearl, NL and have been brewing AG for the past 6 years and mainly belong to the MoB ( posting there the most )
I love talking, brewing and drinking HB.
I do a simple cooler tun mash and ferment in conicals. I have a temperature controlled lager fridge to ferment in and also a fridge to lager in.
I keg most of my beer as do most of my home brewing friends.

Nice to see the BrewNosers up and running.

Looking forward to contributing to this forum.

I recognize the name. Great to have you here!
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

I see your last name is Legge. Any relation to Matt Legge by any chance?

I'm a Newfoundlander living in Halifax. I'm from Stephenville Crossing originally, grew up in Stephenville. Its good to hear that there are some all grain brewers back on the rock.

Yeah, he's from St Johns. I think more specifically the Goulds Area.

Yeah, quite a few that I know of around here. A few of us get together for big brews every now and then, and we socalize besides that.
Stevenville eh. I know a Paul Keating from there who is on our MoB list.

Jimmy, I don't know him, but more than likely if we aren't directly related, we are related down the line somewhere. There were only 4 brothers that came over to settle in Trinity Bay centries ago. I'm originally from Heart's Delight. Ask him when you see him next.

Cheers

I am in St john's regularly for work, and have met a few of the gret brewers and beer advocates (big A and little A) there. I'll have to post when I'm heading back, perhaps have a brew night, or at least a pint at Yellowbelly.

You talking about Frank Mac. ?

Yes for sure a pint at the YB would be great. Let me know when you're in town again.

Yup, Frank. And his cousin (?) who is an AG brewer, you probably know him. Dwayne/Duane. And a younger guy, another Tony, getting into brewing.
Will keep in touch on my next trip.

Don't know Tony, but I brew out to Dwayne's place from time to time, along with a few more people. Frank has brought back a few brews for us to taste on
his travels during our big brews.
This is a pic from one of the brews at Dwayne's place with frank present Image
