Does anyone know if you can purchase replacement side tables for the Kamado?

This is the answer I got from Vision last year:
We sell the side shelves – they are $74.38 for two with $30.00 for shipping to Canada. If you wish to purchase these, please call our office and we can process a credit card.

It's funny, I was looking at this thread about 5 minutes ago. What is everyone using for a pizza stone/heat deflector setup?

I have a 15" pizza stone from stokes. I put my kamado Joe deflector rig on the fire bowl, WITHOUT the deflector, then my standard grate, two fire bricks on that, then my upper grate with pizza stone on top. I found with my 14"+ deflector stone in on hot cooks, it put just too much heat at the gasket, so went back to fire brick.

Re: Vision Kamado Owners Thread - Available @ Costco
I'm gonna need to see pics, or take some pics tomorrow, cuz I still don't have a pizza stone, and want to get started doing those asap. We've had nachos several times, just on a cheapo metal pizza pan, and they've been great.
Is it just me, or does everyone's grill stay hot for a couple of hours after closing both top and bottom vents off? I should be happy that the thing is so well insulated it takes a while to die down, but I want to be sure I'm not wasting fuel or time.
And, I haven't yet done any low and slow cooks, but I bought an iq120 last week to help me get started with it. Probably overkill, but leads me to believe I can probably get rid of my electric smoker, which I haven't used since the Vision grill has been on my deck...

I still use my KJ deflector with the pizza stone right on top of it. Haven't had any issues with my gasket really other than when a friend or family member decides to whip the cover open to take a look without burping the lid.
I just talked to Vision today about getting a new top vent because the handle busted off mine. They're sending me that and a lower vent gasket (at no charge) because it's starting to warp as well.

Mine takes between 2 and three hours to get below 150°F, where it's safe to put on the cover.chalmers wrote: Is it just me, or does everyone's grill stay hot for a couple of hours after closing both top and bottom vents off? OK, glad to know I'm not crazy, and thanks for the info re: when it's safe to put on the cover. Didn't want to find out the hard way that 200F is too hot!LeafMan66_67 wrote:Mine is about 2 hours after a burger or steak cook or 3 after a pizza cook.jeffsmith wrote:Mine takes between 2 and three hours to get below 150°F, where it's safe to put on the cover.chalmers wrote: Is it just me, or does everyone's grill stay hot for a couple of hours after closing both top and bottom vents off? That's the one. Cheaper from bbqs.com in Ontario though, I believe.chalmers wrote:Like this?jeffsmith wrote:I still use my KJ deflector with the pizza stone right on top of it. I wouldn't hold your breath on that one. I've been waiting at least four months and it's not come in stock.chalmers wrote:Thanks! That said, if you find a good source for that adjustable rig, please let me know!

Re: Vision Kamado Owners Thread - Available @ Costco
I Edmonton know how much the replacement tables for a vision would be but if the similar to the egg they are pricey. IMO planning on building a table for mine which will house the hot plate setter/pizza stone, extra grill grates ect...
As for a adjustable rig have you tried something like http://www.ceramicgrillstore.com/cerami ... Itemid=226" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
IM assuming you could get one that would do the job

The Vision Woo Ring looks like a decent setup and it's only $79 with the 13" stone and stainless drip pan.

I'd forgotten about CGS. Going to have to take a closer look at that again.Jimmy wrote:The Vision Woo Ring looks like a decent setup and it's only $79 with the 13" stone and stainless drip pan.

I found shipping from CGS to be expensive - they have some nice stuff though.

Totally. For one heat deflector you're near doubling your cost to ship it here.LeafMan66_67 wrote:I found shipping from CGS to be expensive - they have some nice stuff though.
Are there enough folks interested that we could get a group buy together to try to save on shipping?

Re: Vision Kamado Owners Thread - Available @ Costco
I'm still not 100% sold on the CGS rigs. The reason I really like the KJ divide and conquer solution is because of the half moon accessories—mostly the half moon flat top (for cooking burgers, mostly). I think I'd be out on a CGS group buy and wait until the KJ accessories are more widely available in Canada.

Re: Vision Kamado Owners Thread - Available @ Costco
Agree that the divide and conquer looks awesome, but I thought that the KJ stuff doesn't fit as well in a Vision -- something about the grills rocking a little when the KJ deflector is in because of the gauge of the KJ and there not being any cutouts in the Vision firebowl. That may have only applied to the original KJ deflector or I may have misunderstood something.jeffsmith wrote:I'm still not 100% sold on the CGS rigs. I was thinking about trying to get a Classic Vision Spider and then source a pizza stone locally and/or look into trying to achieve half moons with ceramic kiln shelves. I'm really just looking for a heat deflector that will sit under my existing grills and save me mucking about with firebricks (and losing my bottom grill); I'm not that interested in the complex multi-level rigs.
