Is it safe?
So I put a raw beef roast in the slow cooker this morning, but the cord managed to get unplugged before I left. When I got home at 4:00 is when I noticed. I turned it on and it's currently cooking...is it safe to eat?

I'd chuck it out to be safe. It's also a good excuse to get take-out!

You might know something I don't (I'm sure there's lots), but...Dirt Chicken wrote:Yeah man, not worth the risk, or 3 days of toilet-timeRubberToe wrote:I'd chuck it out to be safe. It's also a good excuse to get take-out!

Had last nights leftovers when I got home, so I'm not going to wither away. I was just hoping to have some lunch for tomorrow

There's formulas for meat above 40f and under 140f for safe time. Does cooking the meat (if it's infected) to 212 kill anything bad anyway? Probably I guess, but I'd not try it.

It had gone under new management (read owner) and went down hill quick.
