Pimento wood
Any interest in this if we can find a source? For smoking Jamaican food.

Re: Pimento wood
There's a supplier in Ontario. Pricey, at $30/lb per chips, but their American supplier is retailing them for $24.99, so not so bad, relatively speaking. Apparently, you go light with them, so maybe not so bad a price - they claim 20 smokes per bag. The 'parent' US site sells chunks much cheaper. if we got enough people, maybe approach the CDN about a custom order....

The bag I bought was about the size of a coffee bag half full and lasted two cooks. It was at a little Caribbean store in Vanier I think.

Re: Pimento wood
I think the ontario suppler actually gets theirs from the other guy, there's similar phrases on both sites. As for importing, I made a call and you'd likely have to have an import permit, certified release form and customs inspection. Probably manageable for a business but a huge PITA for personal use. Sorry for the lead on

But he should be able just to ship by mail like any other parcel. I've ordered wood products from the US with no problems.
