Show your Hydroponics

Post by sleepyjamie » Sun Feb 07, 2016 4:09 pm

I just started getting into hydroponics. I have no idea what I'm doing but plan to document my learning experience.

I probably will start simple with lettuce and peppers and then get into more complex veggies later on.

Interesting, never thought of growing vegetables like that. Can't wait to see how your system develops.

I used to do a lot of this quite a few years ago. I forgot the name of the system I put together, but here's a picture of the setup.

The table eventually had 3 of those plastic bins on it. Each bin was filled with clay marbles that the plants sat in. Three times a day a timer would activate a pump which filled the bins with nutrient water for 15 minutes. Once the pump shut off, the water would eventually drain out. I was amazed at how well it worked. I can't seem to find any pics of it in use, though. I had a lettuce crop once that was insane. :)

One day I'd like to try some aeroponics.
