Souring a Festa Brew?

Post by Judas Brew » Mon Aug 08, 2016 4:42 pm

Hello

I would like to know if anyone has any thoughts on how to sour a Festa brew kit like the Wheat or IPA? or is this even possible? Need more Sour beer in my life.

Any help is appreciated or what would be the easiest way for one to brew a sour.

Thanks

Cheers!

Jimmy and Nash (Others I bet) add some uncrushed grain in the wort for souring. Do a search for it on the site.

lacto doesnt like hops very much (so I've read)...so if the festa has any real amount of IBU it may not work with the grain method. Pitch a vial or smack pack of mixed bugs...let it ride for a few months

Easiest way to brew a quick sour is to Brew Jimmy's Berliner...it is an awesome beer. Just kegged a Cherry Berliner last night...Hoping to enjoy by the weekend

No can do with lacto, too high ibu. Pedio might work but would take a long time.

It would be just as easy to just grab some DME or LME and whip up some unhopped wort to sour then ferment.
