3711 is a beast

Post by mr x » Sun Mar 11, 2012 1:47 pm

It just keeps chewing up the beer, even after it appears to have stopped fermenting, after a couple months, it's really chewed up the wort. This is the Brewnosers Collaboration beer. The perrier bottle was rock hard. I wouldn't use this strain of yeast in a normal glass bottle. And the next time I keg prime, It will be with .5oz of sugar.

I used this in a Saison last summer that I bottled. Even with less than the usual amount of priming sugar (almost half) the bottles were all ridiculously overcarbonated.

Looks tasty.

Oddly, when I looked at this post on my ipod, the pictures were the right way up. now on a real computer, they are sideways. That yeast looks pretty interesting though... attenuation is definitely an issue i have with my beer

iPad also displays them in the correct orientation even when I rotate it.

3711 is my favourite yeast. It's the yeast that keeps on giving.
