Harvesting Top Fermenting Yeast
I harvested yeast (wyeast kolsh) from my conical fermenter. Believe it is a top fermenting yeast. The first dump from the bottom of the conical was all hop trub. I transferred the beer then collected what was sitting on top of the beer. Wondering how ( or if I need to) wash this yeast. What I collected is in a mason jar and after a day in the fridge now has separated into a thin white layer on top, then a thin layer of beer then a thick white layer on bottom.

I doubt it needs to be washed.
