UV Sterilizer for yeast washing

Just had this thought after talking with Derek today about washing yeast,
has anyone used a pen style UV sterilizer to sanitize water before washing yeast? could be a time saver, an expensive time saver.

I've used UV "sterilizers" in the past for other purposes. They do not sterilize, they disinfect. They will not kill all bacteria in water. They will help with disinfecting but further treatment would still be required.
