I've got a decent lead on 1-2 ounce food grade plastic bottles with screw tops when we get to packaging. A little bit of this stuff goes a long way.

Jeff is coming over today and we're doing a Bourbon Vanilla Porter. He'll take his 5 gallons home & ferment it there and we'll add vanilla &/or bourbon to suit our taste and compare later.

Well, that was a Brewday from Hell! :problem: The SS hose braid let go from the drain tube. Luckily I had a couple nylon mesh bags and a big funnel - we scooped the mash into the mesh lined funnel and then poured sparge water over it and squeezed what we could out of it - I think we had to do this 4 or 5 times. Then the hop blocker I built for the kettle turned out to be a wort blocker - draining the kettle was a trickle at best  what normally takes me 4 hrs + clean up was 7 hours.

I think the Beer Gods were making sure my ego and swollen head returned to normal after finding out that on Monday that I medalled at the GCBC :lolno:

Anyway - my half of the beer is bubbling away nicely this morning.

Yup, we still ended up with some great tasting wort at the end of it so that's all that matters. My half is happily bubbling away today and I made sure to put away a few pints last night to soothe the wounds delivered by the brew day from hell. :spilly:

So 3 days into fermentation and it looks as though Andy and I didn't screw up our Bourbon Vanilla Porter too bad. At least the yeast is happy. :cheers2:

Ah yes, starting at that time of the day will definitely make for a late evening. But the temperature will be a bit nicer.

RIght on. I'm going to rack off my lambics to clear up some space for a 15 gal lambic brew tomorrow. Weather's perfect for brewing one more batch.

I'm planning to do a double-brew on Sunday. An IPA and a Belgian Blonde. Now to visualizing my assembly line and simultaneous processes...

Planning a double brew on Sunday as well. This weekend it's B52 Honey Wheat and a Red Rye Ale, last weekend Chalmers and I did a Kolsch and some Hailstorm IPA.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Yes, we're getting closer there. I just racked off the plain, green grape and raspberry versions yesterday. Might get them bottled by September.

I just popped a Festa Brew into the fermenter as I had one hanging around since my good buddy in Prospect Bay sent me one for my birthday a while back that I couldn`t use as my fridges were full. Poor complaint I know. I prefer my own to even that of Festa Brew.
