Going home at lunch to mash in a porter that I will finish up after work on the back deck enjoying what will be left of this great weather!
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Admit it - you had the name before you ever planned to make a beer with Huckleberries!
Currently on tap: Nothing!
In keg: Still nothing.
In Primary: Doggone American Rye Pale Ale

brewed an all-cascade APa while roofing over thanksgiving weekend. it seemed to go well, except i was using a propane burner for the first time, and it boiled off less than beersmith told me. wound up with 6.5 gal instead of 5.5, but must've had better efficiency (hit 1.046 when i was aiming for ~1.050). should be ready in a couple weeks!
planning: beer for my cousin's wedding
Fermenting: black ipa
Conditioning:
Kegged: barrel barleywine from 2014 - i think i still have this somewhere

Brewing my "Grizzly" CDA tomorrow. Was a favourite around these parts last spring—definitely time for a re-brew.
